Kendall Drive, the Turnpike and quieter side streets
Kendall Drive, the Don Shula Expressway and Florida's Turnpike are the big arteries, yet most fence jobs sit on side streets and in cul-de-sacs a short distance from them. Parts of the area fall within county jurisdiction and others sit inside nearby municipalities, so the permitting office can differ from one address to the next.
The ground here sits on the Miami rock ridge, with limestone close to the surface in many yards. That can slow digging and calls for the right tools. Heavy afternoon storms in summer test every fence, and gates that were lightly built often show it first.
